MEET TEC CHAIRS

Biography:

Ron Geekie has extensive experience in business and executive leadership, having managed and grown SMEs for over 13 years, now a CEO Coach in NSW at The Executive Connection (TEC), he helps senior executives become better leaders.

Ron was the Managing Director for Amber Tiles for 13 years and grew the business four-fold during this time, from 12 stores with a turnover of $23m to 41 stores with a turnover of $110m.

During this time Ron;

·      Restructured, repositioned and implemented a new business model into Amber to allow stores to become profitable under franchising;

·      Established three Top Tiles stores in Queensland, a profitable entry level second brand; as well as Newstone Manufacturing, a highly profitable paving manufacturing business supplying exclusive pavers to Amber stores; and

·      Operated and developed two 7,000 sqm wholesale distribution warehouses to supply quality exclusive products to our franchisees.

Ron loves business and likes to see the goods rolling out of the warehouses as a result of excellent strategic planning, brand positioning and well targeted marketing campaigns. He also enjoys the intellectual challenge of channel management and business overall.

Personal:

Ron has been happily married for 35 years with  three beautiful children. He is a big sports fan, and particularly enjoys golf, skiing, tennis and soccer.

Ron has 6 years experience as a TEC Member and is now transitioning to his new role as Chair of TECR 208.

TECR 208 is a well established group of senior executives in NSW from a variety of industries.
