Peter has extensive experience working with chief executives and senior executives in the private sector, particularly professional services, in Australia. Peter is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Secretary, having spent 26 years with Price Waterhouse/PricewaterhouseCoopers in various consulting and practice management roles.

Peter's most recent significant role with PwC was National Operations Director from 2001-2005 where he was responsible for a number of shared service functions and teams including change management projects, credit control, facility management, practice management systems, resource management and secretarial/document processing services. Peter gained extensive change management and team leadership experience through his involvement in the merger of the legacy firms of PwC in 1998, the rationalisation and reorganisation of various business units therein, and then the subsequent strategic realignment of the firm to meet changing external market demands.

In 2007, Peter set up his own business, www.peterblackcoaching.com, providing Executive Coaching, Career Transition Consulting, On-Boarding and Professional Practice Management consulting services. As well as being a TEC Chair, Peter also consults to global career transition company DBM, has been appointed by the Australian Computer Society as their preferred Career and Executive Coach, is a specialist Retirement presenter for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) and also provides audio recordings for Business Essentials. Peter has also been profiled and engaged by the ICAA in relation to his enabling and adaptation of various social media platforms for business purposes.

Peter holds the qualifications of Bachelor of Commerce, Diploma in Corporate Management and a Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning. He is an active and significant investor in listed companies giving him a deep understanding of business and its issues. Peter is also an accredited practitioner in a range of behavioural, career, personality and leadership instruments including Bar-On Emotional Intelligence Inventory, Extended DISC, Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument, Hogan Assessments, Human Synergistics LSI, Myers Briggs Type Indicator, ReCareer and Retirement Coaching.

Peter is epitome of the importance of work-life balance being married with 3 daughters, an accredited representative softball coach and President of the 700 female member Hornsby District Softball Association in Sydney.
