Biography:

In a diverse career, Mike has had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of organisations. These have included large-scale food and pharmaceuticals, through to privately owned small to medium manufacturing and service companies. Mike has, himself, initiated two successful start up ventures in the provision of people management services.

Mike's history has included board level roles in public and private companies as well as the general management of a global outsourcing business he jointly developed with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Clients have included: Federal Express (Global); Nortel Networks (Global); British Petroleum (U.K. and Europe); Australian Department of Finance and Administration; Australian Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry; and Australian Quarantine Inspection Service.

Mike's past roles include CEO: PricewaterhouseCoopers - Human Resource Services; CEO: Alliance Strategy Pty Ltd; Executive Director - Corporate Development: Heinz Wattie Corporation; Executive General Manager - Human Resources: Nissan Australasia; Non-Executive Director: Burra Foods Pty Ltd.

Specialties:

His experience includes mergers and acquisitions, corporatisation and privatisation of Government owned business enterprises and the development of outsourcing arrangements. Mike has also been the organisational design advisor to firms wanting to manage growth and start-up operations or wanting to rationalise their operations.

A high proportion of Mike's work has involved unionised work forces and he has an enviable reputation for achieving successful outcomes and relationships.

Education and Associations:

Mike holds an MBA from Australian Graduate School of Management UNSW; is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors; a Chartered Member of Australian Human Resource Institute; a Member of the Australian Association of Careers Counsellors; and a Member of the Industrial Relations Society.
