MEET TEC CHAIRS

Biography:

Jack has chief executive and other senior executive experience in corporate and line management roles in a number of industry sectors both within Australia and overseas.

He served as Director of Operations of David Jones for six years and Managing Director of W R Carpenter's diversified operations in the South Pacific for five years where he had responsibility for sixteen businesses in three countries having total annual sales of $130 million and 2,500 employees.

Jack spent two years in New Zealand managing a $185 million retail business selling furniture, appliances and floor coverings in 62 stores throughout the country. This was followed by three years as chief executive of Amcal, Australia's largest pharmacy marketing group with 670 member pharmacies having combined sales in excess of $750 million.

Jack's early career was as a Chartered Accountant and Financial Controller with 3M in Canada. He also has experience in the small business environment.

In addition to being Chair of TEC 37, Jack is also the NSW Regional Chair.

Personal:

Jack is married with 5 children and 4 grandchildren. He has lived and worked in Australia, Canada, Fiji and New Zealand. Family life and reading occupies much of his time outside his TEC activities. His sporting loyalties are split between his Toronto Maple Leaf ice hockey team and the Sydney Swans AFL team
