Biography:
Career & Achievements:Richard has chief executive and other senior executive experience in corporate and line management roles, in a number of industry sectors, in Australia and SE Asia.
He was CEO of Unisearch Limited, the commercial operation of the University of New South Wales for a period of 8 years. This responsibility encompassed 135 staff and annual sales of $35 million. Key operating divisions included problem-solving and applied research for business clients, the exploitation of inventions and the development of new start-up companies based on emerging technologies and specialised training programs.
Richard spent several years as General Manager of Verbatim, the manufacturer of digital storage media, with responsibilities for operations in Australia and SE Asia.
Richard's earlier career was based on marketing as a speciality, with senior line roles with ANZ, Colgate Palmolive, General Foods and Imperial Chemical Industries, based in the UK, Sydney and Bangkok.
Richard took over the chairing of TEC 26 in 2006.
Education & Associations: He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and holds degrees from London and Harvard Universities.
