Biography:
Career & Achievements: Max has more than 35 years of business experience in senior executive roles within distribution, engineering, manufacturing and management consulting, including working for private and public companies.
He recently sold his own import and distribution business in lighting and related products, which involved significant offshore sourcing to provide to a customer base that included major retail as well as the wholesale trade and other specialty retail, commercial and industrial outlets.
Max began his business career in personnel and industrial relations with CIG Limited, before moving into broader marketing and sales roles prior to becoming the Managing Director of Lawrence & Hanson, the Managing Director of Klockner Moeller and then the Managing Director of Alsafe Safety.
Lawrence & Hanson employed 800 staff and had annual turnover exceeding $300m and was Australia's largest electrical wholesaler with over 100 branches throughout the country.
Max has had experience in the small business environment, and in addition to his TEC roles he runs a management consultancy business in Victoria, embracing executive recruitment, business advice and strategic planning services.
Max has been a TEC Chair since 2003.
