Career & Achievements: Harvey's first
CEO role was in 1973 with the sporting goods company Jarvis Walker
Pty Ltd, after joining them as National Marketing Manager. Over the
next fifteen years the company evolved into a new group of
companies, establishing off-shore manufacturing plants and joint
ventures with Japanese and USA companies.
This expanded the international emphasis and created a broader
role for Harvey as CEO of the group. He stepped back from the CEO
role in 1988 remaining as a Director until the group was purchased
by Ryobi in 1990.
Harvey subsequently filled CEO roles with a commercial and industrial property company and established a national franchise operation of 45 outlets for a US parent. He has since consulted in marketing and strategic management for a wide range of organisations in the agricultural, manufacturing, IT and service industries, taking a more coaching and mentoring role to CEO's in the last few years. This has led to some Board appointments in both the public and private sectors.
Harvey has been a TEC Chair since 1997 and Regional Chair of Victoria since 2003.
Education & Associations: He holds a Commerce Degree from the University of Melbourne, is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a Member of the Institute of Management Consultants.
